Dr. Sadashiv Nimbalkar
Senior Thematic Programme Executive at BAIF Development Research Foundation, Pune, having three decades of experience across corporate and NGO sectors, dedicating 31 years to advancing research on soil health management, Forest conservation, Conservation medicinal plants includes rare and endangered species, climate adaptation and mitigation. A forestry graduate (BSc, UAS Dharwad), Environmental science (MSc, Kuvempu University), PGDEcology and Environment alumnus (IIEE, New Delhi), Post Graduate Program in Development Management (SPJIMR, Mumbai), and PhD scholar (Pune University), he has led and coordinated translational research in agriculture, forestry, climate resilience, carbon sequestration, soil and biochar management, agri-waste utilization, and ethno-veterinary and household traditional medicine, conserving biodiversity , NTFP, medicinal endemic and rare species across Karnataka, and Maharashtra; a mentor and trainer to nearly 3,000 stakeholders, developer of innovative tree selection, plantation, grafting and soil carbon methodologies, and project leader/Principal investigator to major national and international projects (DST, DBT, EU, NDDB, DANIDA, GIZ, FAO, RGSTC and others CSR projects), his contributions include 27 research papers in National and International journals, multiple presentations, written Five books, User guides, a candidate tree catalogue, and recognition through awards for best scientific papers and case studies.
