WCEF2026 Accelerator Session: Scaling Inclusive Circular Bioeconomy Solutions – From Innovation to Investment

The session will showcase emerging circular bioeconomy innovations from India and highlight how promising ideas can move from innovation and local action towards investment, incubation and scale.
The session will feature the final showcase of the Circular Bio-Economy Innovation Challenge 2026, organised by the International Water Management Institute (IWMI), in collaboration with Pusa Krishi and BAIF Development Research Foundation, under the Circular Bio-Economy Innovation Hub established through the CGIAR Multifunctional Landscapes Science Program.
Following two rounds of screening and technical review, the top four finalists—two community-led rural innovations and two youth- and/or women-led startups or enterprises—will pitch their solutions before an expert jury.
The finalists will showcase practical innovations addressing challenges across agricultural waste, livestock waste, water waste, municipal waste and other green innovations. The session will demonstrate how circular solutions can turn waste and underused resources into new opportunities for livelihoods, environmental sustainability, resource efficiency and inclusive economic growth.
Beyond recognising the most promising innovations, the session will explore what early-stage circular bioeconomy innovators need to move beyond proof of concept—from mentorship and incubation to market access, partnerships, finance and scaling support.
The session will culminate in the recognition of the 2026 finalists and announcement of the winning innovations, with opportunities for incubation, scaling support, expert mentorship, global visibility and inclusion in the Global South Circular Bioeconomy Innovation Catalogue.
